Grace’s Fall Campaign – “Open Doors”

It’s time for the GRACE Community Church’s Fall Campaign. Once again, we will all be studying together as a church. Sunday Morning Services, Fusion, CPR, Light Company, and all of our GRACE Groups this year will come together under the theme of “Open Doors.”

If you ask an unchurched friend if they like Jesus, the answer is usually yes. But ask if that person likes the Church, and the chances are you will get a far less favorable response. We are going to take a look this fall at some specific barriers and some negative perceptions that our friends have about Church. We are going to discuss some specific ways you and I can show the heart and love of Jesus to our neighbors, co-workers, and friends. Hopefully in the process we will remove some of those barriers and create some “Open Doors” for us all to walk through and meet each other. The messages and the small group curriculum are based on Dan Kimball’s book “They Love Jesus, But Not the Church.”

It all begins on September 28th with the first weekend message and will continue for 7 weeks. We are asking every GRACE Group to take part in this study because we believe it is going to have a significant impact on all of the Grace body.

Every group will be given a DVD and Leader’s Guide to use during their group meeting. Each week the group will watch a couple of teaching segments that go along with the message you heard on Sunday. The group will have discussion questions provided to fuel the conversation. There are Participant Guides that every group member needs to purchase ($8.00 from Small Groups Office) and use for the meetings.

We also plan two nights of "Open Forum Discussion" at the church; questions and answers, opinions, discussion about the topics we are investigatiing through this study. This gives us an opportunity to take it even deeper. You can bring your whole group or come alone. We will announce the dates soon.

As always, brand new “Open Doors” small groups will launch on Sunday Night, September 21st for everyone who is not yet connected to a group. Please encourage everyone you know to be a part of a small group during this important campaign.

All Group Leaders please get in touch with the Small Groups Office:

  1. to let us know how many Participant’s Guides your group will need
  2. to pick-up your DVD & Leader’s Guide
